Where should ERP integration begin?
Disconnected systems can store the same information in several places. Integration starts by understanding where each piece of data originates.
Identify the source of each data set
Define the system responsible for customer, stock and order data. If two systems update the same record, agree how conflicts will be resolved.
Document flows and error scenarios
Which record is transferred, when and under which rules? Include retries, logging and team notifications when connections fail.
Validate with a small workflow
Start with end-to-end testing on a limited data set. Expand the scope after validating field mappings and user acceptance.
